Has the thought of working as a cook in a fast food joint or a chef in a posh restaurant ever crossed your mind? Or have you been fascinated with the culinary world for as long as you can remember? If your answer is yes to either one of these, then you might want to go to the AppStore and download Order Up!! To Go.

A Cooking Mama-Cafe World crossover (my impression), Chillingo Ltd.'s Order Up!! To Go provides you a restaurant management experience with high dose of fun.  With its colorful and cutesy graphics, this new time management game will take you to a world of cooking simulation, menu planning, and mini challenges.

At the start of the game, you will be asked to choose the gender of your chef.   Then, you will be assigned as a cook in a greasy burger drive-thru called Burger Face.

Think of it as a training ground and familiarize yourself with the look and feel of the game.  Besides, in order to progress, you have to work hard and save up so you'd be able to afford and open the other restaurants in Port Abello.

Once you've unlocked the next diner, you can now leave Burger Face and begin the challenge of running a restaurant.  Before the start of each day, you will be asked to plan your menu. This is a bit tricky because you are only provided with the expected number of customers but have no clue on what they'll order.  Therefore, you have to predict which dishes would be a hit for the day.

The cooking simulation requires you to do different tasks in order to prepare the food ordered.  The number of tasks depends on how complex the dish is.  For example, an order of pancakes will just require you to cook them while a cold sandwich will require you to butter the bread, carve the meat, slice the tomato, and leaf the lettuce.

Controls are fairly easy and addictive once you get the hang of it.  Guide arrows are displayed (white arrow on light blue background) to show which direction you need to swipe the screen in order to do an action such as flipping a burger, chopping a chicken, or dredging a fish.

To earn more, you should prepare the food quickly and precisely.  The customers give bigger tips if their food are served hot and perfect.  Multitasking is the key to the game, however, you can also choose to do one step at a time to be more precise (it's your choice, but other food will grow cold though).  Just be mindful of the grade meter and the cut lines for vegetables. Adding spice will also earn you "Spice tip." Various personalities in Port Abello desire a particular spice and you can know it by clicking on the "?" found on the upper right corner of their order slip.  Be more diligent when the food critic arrives because he really pays well at the end.

Yarp rating is given at the end of each day - an evaluation on your performance.  It'll give you your score on cleanliness, customer experience provided, efficiency, menu planning, and other essential stats.  You can also gain various achievements while playing (like serving all perfect dishes for a party of four or please the health inspector with clean dishes) that can earn you gold coins (which you can use to buy things or unlock restaurants in-game).

Some of the mini challenges are: washing a certain number of plates within the time limit and getting rid of a rat infestation.  If you failed to do so, your restaurant* will be forced to shut down its operation and will let you wait an hour before you can play again.

*You can work on other restaurants if you've unlocked the others.

However, since the game is free, it is expected that you'll see ads as you play.  It's just a small price to pay in exchange of a superb game composition: from the colorful graphics, funny conversations, the characters you meet along the way, and the setting of each restaurant.

Order Up!! To Go is highly entertaining you won't notice how time flies until you are being notified by your device that your battery is running low.  So get ready to be hooked as you go and begin your burger flipping career. Enjoy!
